MISSION:
"The Canine Corps of Randolph County is a non profit group founded in March 1995 by diverse individuals united in the support and education of one another and the public about the value of healthy, happy dogs. Aware that our dogs can be limited more by our imagination than by their innate abilities, we are dedicated to their growth in four areas: work, therapy, sport and companionship."
Purpose:
The group of humans and canines called the Canine Corps started as a result of a small group of people who did not want to go home after graduating from a seven week Group Basic Obedience class. Instead, they stayed together as a human/dog group The first meeting was March 19th, 1995. They decided to teach their dogs to pull carts to participate in the Asheboro, NC Christmas Parade. There were seven dogs, five that actually pulled carts, and two that walked in the parade that year. They shared knowledge, skills, laughs, imagination, patience, and friendship to achieve their goal. If you would like to join this group, feel free to come to the next meeting.
